Laser show safety – the most important rules
Safety should be the priority, because lasers are high-power light sources. Correct projector placement, safety zones and compliance with standards guarantee a show that is both spectacular and safe for the audience. What conditions are needed?
The space should allow control over external lighting. For a spectacular show, plan for low light or a darkened stage. Haze or smoke is also needed – it makes the beams visible and lets them form three-dimensional light structures.

Preparing the space includes assessing the available area, the height of structures and rigging options, as well as the safety of the audience and crew. The space must be free of obstacles that block the beams and high and wide enough for the effects to be clear from every angle. The distance between the projectors and the audience and the level of darkness must also be taken into account.
Outdoor shows: airports and airspace permits
If the show is to take place outdoors, check whether the venue is in an airport zone, under an approach or departure path, or in an area covered by conditional approval for laser or pyrotechnic shows. In such a zone the show must be notified to and approved by the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PAŻP). You must also strictly avoid shining lasers into the sky, towards roads, people, buildings or highly reflective surfaces.
